Introduction

Geography Southwest has been delighted to work with South West Coastal Monitoring (https://southwest.coastalmonitoring.org/) in the creation of a new pack of resources for KS3. The Dynamic Coast is a varied and engaging set of resources focusing on coastal processes, landforms and management issues at Start Bay, Devon.

The resources comprise PowerPoint presentations, student worksheets and OS map activities focusing on:

  • The story of Hallsands, the village destroyed by the sea

  • Coastal processes and landforms in Start Bay

  • Coastal management issues at Torcross

Lavishly illustrated with photos, maps and diagrams kindly made available by South West Coastal Monitoring, the Dynamic Coast is a ‘ready-to-go’ pack of teaching resources addressing aspects of content and skills outlined in the KS3 National Curriculum.
