Welcome

Climate change is arguably the greatest issue facing us today. Geography Southwest believes that we are facing a climate emergency in that urgent action is required to address the issues associated with the causes and effects of climate change.

Climate change – and ‘global warming’ – has long-featured in the geography national curriculum and geography teachers are at the forefront of informing young people about the causes, processes, and impacts of recent dramatic increases in global temperatures. At geography practitioners, we have a duty to provide students with unbiased, accurate and verifiable information that will help them to make informed decisions in the future as they take over the stewardship of our planet.

There is a vast amount of information out there; indeed, the proliferation of information can be somewhat overwhelming for both teachers and students! We at geography southwest want to establish an up-to-date and varied bank of educational resources to support the teaching of climate change. We would like you to contribute your ideas, your own resources and recommendations . . . articles, videos, online interactive resources, etc.

Please help us to share resources and ideas to make geography southwest the ‘go-to’ site for educational resources on climate change.
