Welcome

Welcome to geography southwest’s fieldwork pages.

South West England possesses a rich and diverse geographical heritage and it offers a huge range of opportunities for fieldwork at all levels. The iconic Jurassic Coast attracts geographers from far and wide, to investigate coastal processes and study the area’s classic landforms. Additionally, there are examples of coastal management at Lyme Regis, Minehead and Dawlish, spectacular limestone landscapes at Cheddar, opportunities for studying river features and processes on Exmoor and urban studies galore in Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Southampton.

These pages aim to showcase the wealth of opportunities available for fieldwork in the south west. We hope that you will find the itineraries suggested by teachers to be of value and we encourage you to submit and share your own experiences.
