IPCC Climate Change 2021

Introduction

Metlink (Royal Meteorological Society) in association with the RGS with IBG have published a comprehensive selection of educational resources for KS3, GCSE and A level.

The resources focus on an interpretation of selected graphs, maps and other diagrams presented in the IPCC’s recent report on Climate Change. Appropriately crafted activities guide students through the content whilst providing opportunities for the application of geographical skills, including the use of spreadsheets.

At GCSE, topics include:

  • Changing polar climate
  • Impacts of polar climate change
  • Evidence for climate change
  • Urban regions

At A level, topics include:

  • How do carbon dioxide emissions link to global temperatures?
  • How often will a heatwave hit the UK?
  • How will water circulation and flooding change?
  • Is our weather becoming more extreme?
  • Where is climate change becoming most apparent?
