Portreath Beach Walk

Portreath Beach Walk

This walk visits a number of interesting coastal landscape features, including caves, beach, cliff geology, an arch and a stack, before examining the industrial history of Portreath. The village is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site, located 3 miles to the north west of the town of Redruth. Tin streaming was recorded here from 1602, and the busy port played its part in the Industrial Revolution, exporting copper and importing coal and limestone.
