Water security - lectures and workshops

Introduction

Professor Chad Staddon, University of the West of England (UWE), is an exciting speaker on issues related to water security in developing world (achieving SDG 6) and developed world (water efficiency and resilience) contexts.

Chad has over 30 years’ experience conducting research on water security issues all over the world. He is ready to give lectures and workshops to learners at all levels on topics such as:

  • What are we doing to achieve universal water access (SDG 6)?
  • Rainwater harvesting as a way to improve water security in East Africa
  • Do countries really go to war over water? (challenging the “water wars” hypothesis)
  • Improving resilience of the UK’s water system in the face of climate change
  • Exploring the urban water cycle in Britain: where do we get our water and will we run out?

Raised in Vancouver, Canada, Chad is a specialist in sustainable resource management at the community scale. He is actively involved with research in Uganda, Peru and India.
