Investigating rainfall in the SW

Introduction

The South West experiences high annual rainfall totals. That explains its lush green landscapes and accounts for its popularity with visitors from the arid South East!

This investigation, aimed at KS3 students, provides a simple introduction to the use of GIS mapping. It investigates the pattern of rainfall in the South West, making connections with the region's topography. Written as a worksheet, this investigation can be conducted at school or at home.
