SW Geography conference 2022
Over 70 teachers, presenters and publishers attended the first Geography Southwest (in association with the RGS-IBG and UWE) annual conference at the University of West of England on Tuesday 28 June.
The programme featured four keynote talks and seven workshop presentations. Ten exhibitors, comprising educational publishers, school travel organisations and workshop presenters provided stands.
Teachers very much enjoyed the opportunity to meet face to face after the constraints of the last two years. The lectures provided insights into current geographical issues and featured topical case studies. Delegates appreciated the range of workshops and the chance to learn new skills and update their knowledge. Everyone appreciated the informal chats over coffee and in the lunch break and the chance to exchange ideas about fieldwork opportunities, NEAs and current geographical topics.
Next year’s Geography Southwest conference will be held at the University of West of England (UWE) in June 2023. The provisional date is Monday 26 June, 2023 so please put this into your diary!
