Marcus Rashford: free school meals

Introduction

In 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford led a successful public campaign to convince the government to provide free school meals for disadvantaged children.

As part of the University of Exeter's 'Black History Month', Sarah-Jayne Ainsworth has written a lesson plan outlining a range of teaching ideas focusing on Marcus' campaign.
