Virtual fieldtrip: the River Eden

Introduction

Rivers change immensely as they flow downstream from their source to the sea. Join us for a virtual field trip down the River Eden in Cumbria to learn how river landforms and processes change throughout the river system. Use GIS to draw your own river valley profiles and investigate how they change downstream.

You'll also learn how to design a successful fieldwork investigation and plan your own virtual fieldwork trip, choose field sites, undertake a risk assessment and think about appropriate survey techniques.
